Dr John Pierides obtained his medical degree from the University of Adelaide in 1982 and completed training in Anatomical Pathology at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in 1989, gaining his Fellowship from the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia.
As the Clinical Director of Anatomical Pathology, he is responsible, in partnership with the Directorate Manager, for the planning, coordination and administration of Anatomical Pathology services across all SA Pathology sites.
Dr Pierides has a particular interest in Cytology and has previously served as the President of the SA Branch of the Australian Society of Cytology and as Secretary of the Board of Examiners.
He has a keen interest in registrar training and all areas of diagnostic surgical pathology.
