Associate Professor Miliauskas graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1976 and trained in anatomical pathology at the IMVS. He has completed haematopathlogy fellowships at the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, USA and also an oncological fellowship at St Jude Children's Research Hospital in the USA.
He has been a panellist for the ANZLG and subsequently ALLG for over 20 years. He was also a panel member for developing the Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Lymphoma, as well as developing a structured lymphoma pathology reporting protocol.
Associate Professor Miliauskas has published over 40 articles and abstracts including a book chapter on fine needle aspiration of lymph nodes, and has given presentations on lymphoma pathology at national and international meetings. He has been a member of the pathology team at Breast Screen South Australia for ten years, as well as being an examiner for the RCPA.
His areas of interest include lymphoma pathology and fine needle aspiration cytology of lymph nodes, breast and salivary glands.
